On August 21, 2017, Jackson Hole skywatchers will be treated with a rare and spectacular celestial show. A total solar eclipse will grace American soil for the first time since 1979. The Teton valley is located in the path of totality, directly in line as the Moon’s orbit passes directly between Earth and the Sun. What better destination to experience this rare marvel than the Teton range, as the moon completely obscures the sun at 11:35am, casting the breathtaking valley in shadow.

Experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view the solar eclipse in combination with a 5-day/4-night expedition. This all-inclusive experience will explore one of our nation’s most breathtaking national parks, Grand Teton National Park, and observe the wildlife that make this ecosystem so remarkable. As Jackson Hole begins to buzz with excitement days before the eclipse, your expedition will escape the crowds at a charming lodge in the Buffalo Valley, overlooking the entire Teton Range. This expedition includes two day trips to Yellowstone National Park to explore the iconic geothermal features as well as the magnificent Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. On August 21, you will rise early and position yourself to view the eclipse across the valley to the east.
