Day 1

Finch Hattons Luxury Tented Camp, Tsavo West National Park, Kenya

Welcome to Kenya! Upon arrival at the airport you’ll be met by your guide who will transfer you Nairobi Wilson Airport for your flight to Finch Hattons airstrip. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by the Finch Hattons team and transferred to camp for a guided tour before settling into your luxury tented suite.

Once settled, enjoy a 3 course lunch on the outdoor terrace while overlooking the natural freshwater springs. The afternoon is yours to relax by the infinity pool, explore the property research center, ,or gaze out over the springs on your private deck until your afternoon game drive.

Afternoon tea will be served on the terrace before your first drive in Tsavo West National Park, where you can spot the the famous red elephants and of-course, keep a keen look out for the infamous man-eaters of the

Tsavo! Sip on a sundowner cocktail at sunset with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background before heading back to the camp for an exquisite 6-course meal. The rest of the evening is yours to rest or enjoy nature.

Day 2

Finch Hattons Luxury Tented Camp, Tsavo West National Park, Kenya

After your wake up call of coffee or tea, head out on an early morning game drive. A sumptuous breakfast will be served, either on property or out in the bush. Enjoy a morning at leisure, perhaps with yoga on the fabulous deck overlooking Chyulu Hills or a special spa treatment (not included). Lunch will be served on the outdoor deck. 

This evening, your expert guide will take you on a bush walk to learn more about the park, its rich history, the flora and fauna unique to the park and how nature lives and thrives in Tsavo.

After your walk, enjoy pre dinner drinks and musical entertainment at the camp “boma”. Dinner with be followed by a nightcap on the stargazing terrace.

Day 3

Segera Retreat, Laikipia Plateau, Kenya

Enjoy your final leisurely breakfast at Finch Hattons before your transfer to Nairobi Wilson Airport. From here, you will catch your flight to Segera Airstrip via Nanyuki. Arrive to Segera Retreat in time for a delicious lunch, followed by an orientation of the property’s Zeitz Art Collection and beautiful botanical garden. Enjoy an afternoon an leisure enjoying the property or the center’s spa services. Your afternoon game drive will commence at 4:00pm, finishing up with a traditional sundowner. Return to the retreat to freshen up and enjoy pre-dinner drinks and a lovely meal with your fellow travelers. Sleep well in your villa for the next two evenings.

Overnight at Segera Retreat (B, L, D)

Segera Retreat lies at the very heart of the Laikipia Plateau, which is nestled between the glorious Mount Kenya to the east and the Great Rift Valley to the west. A stunningly diverse and seemingly magical environment, the Laikipia region boasts woodlands, grasslands and fertile riverbeds where water flowing from the Aberdare Mountains long ago gave rise to the Mutara River to the north, and the Ewaso Nyiro, Suguroi and Segera Rivers to the south.

A cascading waterfall flows from the Segera River and the natural Ivy Springs, found in the Valley of Kiseregai Creek, attract herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, warthog and many other native species throughout the year. Preserving the unique biodiversity in the Laikipia region is an essential cornerstone of the conservation efforts in Kenya as a whole. Here, wildlife populations and habitats are being conserved on mostly private and communal lands.


Day 4

Segera Retreat, Laikipia Plateau, Kenya

During an early breakfast, observe the diverse landscapes from the Paddock House. Fuel up for a guided nature walk that leads to a “back-of-house” tour with stops at the solar farm, water recycling plant and the hanger which houses the GAMMY, the original plane from the award winning movie “Out Of Africa”.

Proceed with a game drive en route to SATUBO women’s beading group-A Zeitz Foundation Initiative that has transformed the age-old tradition of beading and handicraft into a financial viable enterprise. Participate by learning how to make the beading products with the option of purchasing some of the handmade traditional jewelry.

Lunch will be in the bush. Return to the retreat to rest in your villa, by the pool or at the spa (treatments not included). Perhaps relax in the Explorers Lounge where you can travel back in time by reading unpublished letters from David Livingstone, Karen Blixen and Ernest Hemingway.

Meet your fellow retreaters for drinks before settling down for a hearty dinner. Should the weather cooperate, consider spending your final night at Segera sleeping on an outdoor swing bed!

Day 5

Mahali Mzuri Tented Camp, Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Maasai Mara, Kenya

Have a final breakfast and morning at leisure at Segera Retreat. You will be transferred at the appropriate time to the Airstrip for your flight to Olare Orak Airstrip via Nairobi Wilson Airport. Upon arrival, staff members from Mahali Mzuri will welcome and transfer you to the camp for a guided tour before settling into your luxury tent. Consider a dip in the swimming pool or a drink from the bar. At Mahali Mzuri the rates are fully inclusive of all meals and all drinks including champagne and premium brands.

Tea will be served in the lodge before an afternoon game drive in the Olare Motorogi conservancy. Experience the wildlife of the Maasai Mara with complimentary binoculars in near solitude, only the vehicles of the conservancy partners are permitted out on game drives.

Dinner will be served either in the main dining tent, or perhaps out in the bush followed by drinks around the campfire.

Mahali Mzuri means ‘beautiful place’ in Swahili and describes Sir Richard Branson’s tented Safari camp perfectly. Here, you’ll have a front row seat, not just to witness the Great Migration, but also to the abundant game you can see all year round.

The location in the Maasai Mara’s private and exclusive Olare Motorogi Conservancy means that guests are amongst one of the biggest lion populations in the whole of the Maasai Mara. Led by expert Maasai guides, sighting these beautiful animals is almost a daily occurrence. With a number of pride territories in the conservancy and resident Leopard’s, watch out for some dramatic encounters.

Twelve uniquely designed tented suites are situated on the edge of an escarpment taking advantage of amazing views over the valley below and feature all modern creature comforts. Mahali Mzuri is a camp with a personality, a homely atmosphere and excellent facilities. Guests are warmly welcomed as one of the family and the service, style and decor is unique to the Maasai Mara – it’s an experience not to be missed!


Day 6

Mahali Mzuri Tented Camp, Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Maasai Mara, Kenya

Your expert guide will be waiting to take you out on an early morning game drive in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Breakfast will then served at Mahali Mzuri or perhaps out in the bush. Lunch will be enjoyed on the shaded deck at Mahali Mzuri. The afternoon is free to do as you please. Why not book a treatment (not included) at the Nasaro Spa?

This afternoon’s activities include learning from your Maasai Guide how to throw a spear or shoot a bow and arrow. Should you wish, a visit to a Maasai community closest to Mahali Mzuri can be arranged*, where you can understand the local way of life and meet with a Maasai Elder (*a contribution to the village trust fund would apply).

Have an afternoon tea before your afternoon game drive commences. Upon return, freshen up for some pre dinner drinks around the campfire. Share your stories and photos of what you’ve seen with the team and other guests. Dinner in the dining tent on property before enjoying a final night in your luxe tented suite.

Day 7

Zawadi Hotel, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Following breakfast and check out, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your Ocean Front Hotel for the remainder of your luxury East African adventure.

Day 8

Zawadi Hotel, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Today is yours at leisure. Relax on the white sand beach with a drink in hand, or take advantage of the hotel’s close proximately to town with a city tour of Stone Town. Enjoy meals at leisure, reveling in the island’s local cuisine of fresh fish, crisp produce and exotic spices.

Day 9

Zawadi Hotel, Zanzibar, Tanzania

After a long breakfast, head on foot to the fascinating mangrove forest just 10 minutes away. Here, you can board a small local ngalawa boat to explore this pristine coastal environment where herons nest and crabs are abundant.

Consider a swim with dolphins or join a naturalist guide on a tour of Jozani Forest, home of of the endangered Zanzibar Red Colobus. Enjoy the toasty afternoon on the beach or by the pool.

Day 10


After your final breakfast in this East African paradise, you will check out and be transferred to the airport to begin your journey home.
